Confessions of an Exhausted Mommy.

Well, I could go on and on as to why I have not blogged in so long but I won’t. I will simply admit that I am sadly not the super mom I used to dream of being. I don’t run home each evening, after being sweet Miss Honeywell at school all day, to make homemade dinners (unless frozen and Take out count). That is not me. I actually leave the house with beds unmade and breakfast dishes on the table. I now tell myself that as long as Aimée is happy, fed, and somewhat clean and presentable I am doing a great job. My standards of parenting have clearly dropped now that I am actually parenting.

Happy Têt-Trung-Thu

We had lots of fun celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival this week. We had a yummy Vietnamese dinner hosted by Cindy during the week. As part of the celebration, Aimée and I decorated our own lanterns. She is quite pleased with hers as you can very well see.

On Saturday afternoon, we went for a quick trip to Montréal to see "La magie des lanternes" at the Montreal Botanical Garden. It was truly an amazing sight. The whole atmosphere, especially the pagodas, reminded me of being in Vietnam. Here are some pictures I took at night.

While we waited for dark, we decided to visit some of the other gardens. Let's just say that Aimée was not always on her best behavior. Here, Aimée is in time out for running off once again and making her Mommy chase her half way across the garden to get her (while giggling I might add). Not so funny now, is it Miss Aimée!!!

This is a blurry picture, but if you look closely, you will see the mischievous glint in her eyes. God help me!!!!

This fall, Aimée is signed up for dance and gymnastics. Here she is at her first gymnastics or as she would say "elastics" class.

Late August, we went camping in Mattawa at Champlain Park. It was cold but great fun.

Sorry Aimée, it is just way too cold to swim.
