Holy cow!
Well, I knew it was going to happen eventually, but I was not prepared for it to happen so soon. I lost Aimée today.... in my own damn house! One minute, Aimée was playing nicely with her toys in the living room while I was in the next room (kitchen) starting supper. The next minute, she was gone. Vanished, I tell you. I looked under coffee tables and behind couches. I began to panic. I called her name. Nothing. I could not find her anywhere on the main level. I then went into full blown panic. I cried: "Oh Lord, where is my sweet precious baby?" (O.k.,the last line was a little bit dramatic, but purely for YOUR reading pleasure). Seriously, I was sh#tting! There was no way she could have gone upstairs. Aimée has never really climbed more than several stairs and when she does, she always gets scared and cries for me to come and rescue her. I really had nowhere else to look though, so eventually I went upstairs. There, soaked up to her elbows, was Aimée playing in the toilet with her accomplice, Casey. She gave me nothing more than a quick glance before continuing to splash in the toilet. She had no clue as to how freaked out I was. I can't believe she managed to crawl right past me and climb the stairs without my knowledge. It is crazy and so scary. Clearly, it is time to place a permanent baby gate at the bottom of those stairs.

I can just see you running around your house looking for her. I do agree that a baby gate at the bottom of the stairs would be a good idea seeing as she has discovered the toilet. The last thing you need is a toilet that overflows because she has shoved things down it. Especially when she discovers how to flush it.

We all do it...luckily you only lost her in your own house:) We lost Elisabeth in a store once...talk about heart-stopping!!!! Who knew toilet-water could be so enticing???
What a clever girl, she can climb stairs!
Hate that panic, holy crap feeling... your tum just drops, and yes, panic does set in!!
Now wait until you lose her to her fascination with dust bunnies under her crib :) That would be taking after her cousin.
Evan used to think it was fun to hide inside the clothing racks at stores like Walmart. It's almost impossible to find them. Easier than looking though is to announce you're leaving without them - but they need to know that they are lost first LOL
